Sri Lanka – Reopening of borders – Covid-19

Sri Lanka is pleased to reopen its borders to tourists! However, there are still restrictions in place.

Vaccination:

Those who have received the recommended dose and up to two weeks after the final dose are vaccinated.

Any type of vaccination received in the country of origin is effective for Sri Lanka.

General Information:

– No minimum length of stay

– The vaccination certificate must be presented in English.

Visa and arrival:

– The visa for Sri Lanka can only be applied for online.

– Each arriving passenger must present the following documents on arrival: these documents are a valid travel insurance with health and hospitalization coverage for the entire duration of the stay, a legal round trip air ticket, a detailed travel itinerary of confirmed reservations made in SLTDA registered hotels and certified “Safe & Secure level 1” for the first two nights, the vaccination certificate (in English!) as well as a negative PCR test less than 72 hours old

 

Upon return – Sri Lanka is an “Orange” territory

If you are vaccinated, there are no specific restrictions on quarantine or testing. However, airlines may require these.

The unvaccinated in Sri Lanka

People who have received only one dose, or none, of the Covid-19 vaccine are unvaccinated.

If your second dose is less than 14 days old, you have not completed your full vaccination schedule.

Please note, a compelling reason will be required for all departures from France.

General information :

– No minimum length of stay

-PCR tests will be required before and during your stay (the first one will be done once you arrive at your destination and the second one to leave the country). Please note that if you are staying for the equivalent of 2 weeks, a final test will be performed during the last 3 days.

– A choice of accommodation reduced to ” Safe & secure level 1 ” during the first 2 weeks

– An established catalog of places you can visit during your stay.

 

Visa and arrival:

– The visa application is done exclusively online, consequently, the rate is changing according to the length of your stay (the visa allows the financing of PCR tests during the stay).

– Each arriving passenger must present the following documents upon arrival: a valid travel insurance with health and hospitalization coverage for the entire duration of the stay, a valid round trip ticket and a detailed report of the reservations made in SLTDA registered hotels and certified “Safe & Secure level 1”, with the first night in Negombo. A negative PCR test advanced by a laboratory within 72 hours prior to arrival in the country.

Sri Lanka is subject to strict regulations when returning unvaccinated persons.
